As the mother of a son serving in the Royal Canadian Navy, this news touches a very tender place. Behind every uniform is someone deeply loved. I am thinking of the families waiting for news, those grieving, and those beside a hospital bed hoping for recovery.

To those who have lost someone, words cannot ease the weight of your loss. To those injured, and everyone carrying the impact of what happened, my thoughts are with you.

My gratitude goes to the first responders, medical teams, and military personnel caring for those affected.
